I wish you oodles of luck getting a reasonably priced rental property in Brisbane!  We are experiencing a boom in Brisbane presently and there are more people seeking rental properties than there are actual properties.

I agree with the first posters suggestion of realestate.com.  

This might give you some ideas too on where you actually want to rent if you haven't already decided.

Another idea when you've decided where you want to rent is to contact the real estate agents in the area, expressing your interest in any upcoming properties.

go to  www.realestate.com.au and it will ask you what area you want to live in.. make sure you click on rent.   then it will show you all the rentals available... this is how we found our rental and we have just signed a 2nd yr lease...
