  2. Well most of the parties i go to, dont serve food/meals. so i suggest you do the same, since like u said there will be a lot of people to serve. Instead have just appetizers. You can make ur own, for example: chips and dip, nachos, cookies...etc. You can even buy some small sized subs, from subway. They have this catering package that comes with a lot of small sized sanwhiches. Aside from the appetizers, just have plenty of drinks. Soda, water, limonade, etc....and depending on how old you are, you can consider a dj and alcholic drinks.

  3. Hi,

I love to entertain too, and my experience teaches me that the best way to have a good party and for everybody to enjoy it is to keep things simple. I love fresh, healthy food, so here are my suggestion for stress-free preparations:

Serve lots of salads and dips: for salads you can buy bags of washed lettuce ( mix different types to create interesting textures ) and then just add cut up fresh, ripe tomatoes, carrots, broccoli florets, apple slices, etc.

For dips, guacamole is always a hit - just mash up ripe avocados, add some lemon juice and super-finely chopped tomatoes.

It's nice to have some fresh, home-made stuff and some shop-bought dips and salsas.  Make sure there are lots and lots of different types of chips to go with them.

Bowls of olives and bowls of little alty snacks are always easy to prepare and people love them.

You will also need something more solid, like perhaps pizzas cut in squares, which you can pile up in nice china trays.

Another thing you could serve is a pasta salad, which is eaten cold and therefore you can prepare in advance.

I would also have a tray of two or three different types of cheeses, together with some yummy fresh crusty breads.

And then finally lots of sweets! All your favourites, of course...:-)

Accompanied perhaps by a big bowl of fresh fruit.

    There, easy!

Enjoy your party and happy birthday!
