  1. There is no harm in asking, take your resume in and have a chat with the owner.

Other than that, just get the paper and see what is available. Try retail as well as admin.

  4. start a new trend become the first transexual w***e on your street.

after you save enough money from your new job apply to NASA as an astronut and get to the space station. once you arrive make history by being the first male/female to give birth to triplets in space.

  5. Try inventory and warehousing at a hospital.

  6. You may need to do some training to be in administration. Would you consider 6 months to a year study first at TAFE? I left my job in design and studied admin, after which I did temp work as well as reception etc. I also received Austudy which helped with living expenses, used some savings and had a part time job in a printers doing design. It was the best idea I ever had. TAFE was loads of fun, and my social life improved. But anyway, TAFE have 6 month courses full time for people who are mature age and heaps of girls got jobs after that. I stayed for the full year and did the CERT IV in Bus. Admin, which meant I could become a PA. Centrelink are pretty good with payments, especially if you have a letter from your Doctor.

  9. While I cant suggest a job I would like to suggest a plan to implement once you have a list of possible employers despite them having no work available at this time.

Lets imagine you have 5 business you would like to work for, but currently they have no vacancies.

Lay out a run so that you can visit all in a single day.

Then on that allocated day, do the rounds of these 5.

    Do this each fortnight.

Make sure you are in your Sunday best every single time, or dressed to suite the job.

Always have your details with you.

Always arrive punctual and I am speaking here so punctual (to the minute) they will be setting their clocks by you.

Be polite and please don’t annoy by dragging out your enquires.

My theory on this works along these lines.

(Q)Do you know of any business that has zero staff turn over?

    (A) None.

That’s right its none because regardless of how great the company is to work for if nothing else people will die, there is always some sort of staff turn over.

Death aside, most living people resign and also time the last day to finish at the end of the work week, a Friday.

Therefor on Monday when the boss say, **** we need a new guy, you arrive at their door.  Equally so when someone leaves the first thing everyone will say is.  How about that guy who always calls in here at 10.14am every second Monday.  He sure must be keen, is very polite and dresses well.

If you do this and an employer does not at an absolute minimum interview you then they are not worth working for.

List just who you want to work for and set aside just one day a fortnight to do your rounds.  If thats asking a lot then ask your self if you are truly serious about wanting to work.

    Greetings.

  11. The only way to get a job in Australia (the best way) is the direct approach.  Ring or visit companies you think you might like to work for - but find out about them before you make contact.

Contact Disability Services both Vic and Commonwealth Goverments offer a service helping people with a disability - even mild to find work.
