I need a job in the uk! help!?

I'm from north america and I'm looking for a two week job.I have a work holiday visa. so obviously something i can quit very soon or its contract. i can't get office work as replacing people for holiday has not really started. So if i were to work in the retail and restaurent sector is there any way i can make more then 6 pounds an hour?? Any ideas?.

Au pair work ?? my brother has taken some one on to help him and wife and 3 babies , given her top up driving lessons a car+ petrol +insurance, free food + wine + phone, help your self. live in help for 20 hours +£100 + aweek she is so happy . think i do it my self. lots of hotels advertise for live in help look in "The Lady " magazine book lots there and diff jobs

  3. the rate to work in london is 5.90 per hour that is minimum wage most pay more than this. if u work in a pub or resturent u will get tips to. i would try going in the resturents when u get here to see if they have work.

Forget it.  No one will take you on for two weeks.  Can you get two week jobs in North America?  Do you really need a job for that length of time anyway?  Why not do overtime at home before you come here?  Most jobs these days need CVs, references and an interview, even rubbish jobs in retail, and even after that there is up to a month of waiting, and there would be another month before you were actually paid (again, even rubbish jobs have monthly BACS payment schemes).  Cash-in-hand jobs are the territory of illegal immigrants from former Soviet republics, and there are a lot of those guys around looking for that kind of work.  If you find something, let me know - I would be impressed.
