You don't NEED a lawyer to collect life insurance.  All you do is file the claim.

If you're constesting the beneficiary clause, just about any lawyer will do it - for  $250 an hour.  You won't get one to take this on contingency, because most of the time, you can't win.

If you are the beneficiary and not getting a pay out you can contact the local states Insurance commisioner,  this would allow you to get the company's attention and they should be ready to respond more quickly.

On the other hand if you think you deserved to get a payout and didnt, you need to realize that a life insurance is a contract and the company is only obligated to pay the beneficiary and you should be wary of spending a lot of time or money for something you wont change.  Good Luck
