I need a letter of invitation to travel to china?

I am travelling to china in a few weeks and the consulate said that i need to get a letter of invitation from my friends who live there so that I can stay in their apartment in harbin

but none of us have any idea how to write it

You need your host in China to write it.  Just ask them to write a letter saying...

Dear ...

Please come visit ... in Harbin in ...   for the purpose of ...

Your friend ...

With the Olympics coming it has become very difficult to get into China.  It's not anywhere near as hard as getting a visa into the US, but it is more difficult than before.

Just ask them, this is probably happening because of the Olympics and its become harder to get a VISA
