There is a light in the bathroom already but i would like more lighting over the shower area. I don't think the push light provide much light when another light is already on but does anyone know of anything that I can install without having to hire an electrician?

  1. Be careful with this one. Any light over a shower must have tempered fixtures and be sealed. This is to prevent accidental bulb breakage or fixture breakage that causes broken glass to be in the shower while being used.

  2. A simple recessed can light works well in a shower.  They sell waterproof can lights at home depot just for this type of installation.

Installing a new light fixture is a fairly simple project for any do it yourself homeowner without calling an electrician.  I have no idea what your skill level is.

  3. Without running new wire to a recessed or can light, your only option would be one of those adhesive battery powered touch lights. Or, if your more adventurous, you could staple plug in rope lighting around the ceiling above the shower.
