  1. get a skateboard...skate everywhere...word hard at it, dont give up, and dont be afraid to fall.

  2. I started skateing about half a year ago. Here's my advice:

Buy a decent pair of skate shoes (from a brand like etnies or DC shoes), then buy a decent board (brands like Zero, Girl and Element). Then hit youtube and search for things like beginners tricks, tic-tacing, how to ollie.

The ollie is basically the most important trick in my opinion, because this is how you get the board off the ground without actually touching the ground yourself. It leads to many other tricks (like the kickflip for instance), and it how you get onto ledges and grind rails, street curbs etc. You can ollie over things, like bricks, if you'e going down the street and its in you're way!

I don't suggest going to a skate park until you are comfortable with riding around on the board and turning (i made that mistake. I was really intimidated, but tried to go down the biggest ramp on my first week, and sprained my ankl badly. Yeash kind of funny). But once you can move around with no difficulty, try to learn the ollie and you will get a lot more out of the skate park.

When you do first go to the skate park, i advise you try the smallest ramps first. Maybe try going halfway up them, and then turning and coming backdown. Thats how i learnt my balance on the ramps. And if you're wondering how to turn, just lift the front wheels up a bit and swing the board round at the same time, whilst putting a little more weight on the tail.

If you can't get to a skate park easily, a lot, then try buying a skate ramp off the internet, there's plenty off good ones. You can always learn a lot of tricks on the flatground too.

This link is a link to some good brands of skate shoes. Free UK delivery so if you order some at least you won't have to pay for the postange lol. The website also has all the skateboarding equipment you'll need, and skate clothing. Tip - if you don't want to spend loads of money buying the different parts seperately, buy a complete skateboard, it'smuch cheaper and just as good. - http://www.vapourised.com/nodes.asp

This link is about a skatecamp in the UK, called Rubicon Skate Camp. I'll be going to it some point in the near future, and thought maybe you'd enjoy it. Have a look, beginners are welcome and you get to go to all the best skate parks all across the UK.

This is a video on how to turn, the skateboard videos from expertvillage are well explained and i think when learning a new trick its easy to follow.

Well, I hope I helped, If id did can i have best answer please? Oh, and good on you for wanting to skateboard, and good luck!

  3. find a skate park. Get a cheapish board and SKATE

  4. all you need is a board, wheels, trucks, bearings, grip tape, and the right shoes. (just go to a skate shop and ask for help, the dudes there will be able to tell you everything you need to know)

personally for me, the hardest part when getting started was getting over the fear of falling...once you get a board, practice bailing before actually doing the tricks. just skate a straight line, pop the board, and before landing jump off the board onto the grass. once you do it a few times you will realize its not really that bad. then you can start trying tricks (i suggest practicing the ollie first)

good luck man, skating is a lot of fun.

  5. get a board and get used to riding then learn tricks of websites and other people at local parks.

But you need to have fun otherwise theres no point

  6. Get a skateboard and just skate everywhere you go
