the answer will be

if the question is solve xx+8x+7 > 0

the answer will be

x is in the domain ]-infinity ; -1 [ or ] 7 ; + infinity[

(x+1)(x+7)

I guess if you want to express this i a different form say;

(x+a)(x+b) = xx +(a+b)x + ab

you would have to find two number a & b that

(a+b) = 8  & a*b = 7

Anything come to mind?

If your question were to solve f(x) = 0

you'd have

(x+a)(x+b) = 0

so either (x+a) = 0 or (x+b) = 0

which s also not that hard.
