I found that I like running a lot and I want to try to build up my stamina and do cross country next year. What would you recommend to do?

  1. Implement running into your daily schedule (preferably in the morning). Gradually increase your mileage and pace over time. Try to find other people at your same level to go on runs with; it will help significantly.

    Good luck!

  2. Beginning cross country can be difficult at start but this is normal. I suggest that you begin to run on a daily basis for at least 25 minutes and then start to build up the time. Make sure that you vary your conditions that you run in and try and run in hilly areas once a week. After 2 weeks you should feel your stamina build up and begin doing short sprints. Sprint 25 metres around hilly bends as fast as you can

  3. I am going to be a sophmore this year in high school and i have done track as a frosh. I know track is different then x country but its pretty similiar running wise. If you want to be dedicated to cross country I would  run on a daily basis. there are alot of choices join a gym, get a personnal trainer, but if those are not an option run by your self or with your friends?(this is what i do to keep in shape for soccer and track). You really have to be dedicated though. Increase your running distance weekly, or even daily. Cross Country is all about consistant stamina not speed remember, If maybe you feel like you cant do the distanes or you are more of a short stamina person try going for track in the winter / spring.
