I don't know if you would be interested but the Vikings would wear a coin around their neck when they went to sea. You could try that if your not religious. Also you can use either a few beads or an animal totem. There is one store in the Gurnee mall near where I live that lets you make your own and each animal gives a different characteristic. I generally use a coin.

Anything will work as a "lucky amulet." You just have to believe that it works!

It's also called a 'self-fulfilling prophecy." It works like this: You have a test coming up. You "know" you don't do well on tests and you'll not do well on this test. Therefore there's no reason to study. When you don't do well on the test, you know you don't do well on tests.
