  1. I use the sigma 70mm f2.8 DG macro lens.

It gives full 1:1, will work on a full frame camera (if you have a film nikon, or hanker towards a D3 or D700) and is astoundingly sharp up to f16 (many others drop off around f11)

It's also keenly priced compared to equivalent nikon lenses.

  2. There are two that you may want to consider.

    The AF-S 60 mm f/2.8 or the AF-S 105 mm f/2.8 VR

    Both are exquisite lenses

  3. Depends On What You Wanna Spend...

Nikkor's Micro ( Macro ) lenses aren't cheap at all, actually, they are quite expensive. Some thousands of dollars, aimed at professionals, or amateurs with high-budgets..

That's Nikkor's 105mm Micro-Lens, Which is a very good one, i did alot of research on this lens.. But it's around nine hundred dollars.. :( Not Cheap.. )

Another one that i researched: the nikkor 60mm Micro lens, it's around 480$, which isn't bad for a lens with such specifications..

NOTE: the above lenses are ' prime ' lenses, so you can't zoom in or out, they are fixed-focal-length lenses.

  4. if you want a cheep one and a very good one and has both tele and macro lens you should get the sigma 70-300 mm f/4,5.6 DG  it's amazing it's 135$

but if you want a only a macro lens but the best then you should get the Nikkor - Macro lens - 105 mm - f/2.8 G ED-IF AF-S VR it's between 729 to 900 $$  and that's a very high price but it's amazing

    and you can get the Nikkor - Macro lens - 60 mm - f/2.8 G ED-IF AF-S it's for 470 to 670 $$ and it's a normal price and a very good lens

so good luck buying the best lens
