  1. If going fancy, beef wellington was the "dish" in the 70's.  otherwise the following:

    Cheese and meat fondue

    Jiffypop popcorn

    salad bar

    ambrosia salad

    quiche lorraine

    sweidish meatballs

coctail weinies either wrapped in dough and baked or servied with mustard

    deviled eggs

  2. Quiche and Casseroles.

  3. Homemade Macaroni & cheese, ham, salad with iceburg lettuce, tomato & thousand island dressing or blue cheese.

    Have fun : )

  4. Fried chicken, Sloppy Joes,  chuck roast with carrots & potatoes, BBQ chicken, cheeseburger pie, beef stroganaff, chili mac without beans, shrimp creole, shrimp curry, shrimp or crab louis salad , red beans & rice, BLT's, beef stew, liver & onions, beanie weinies, hamburgers, chili, fried fish, chicken spaghetti & of course meatloaf.

  5. Quiche was popular then.... but most of the things I made then, I still make:)  Stuffed peppers, flank steak on the BBQ,  Sausage & Peppers.  ...  Supposedly, people think fondue was popular, but I've never even tasted cheese fondue!  (I was married in 1967)  We DID put out pots of hot oil, in fondue pots, with dishes of chicken, beef & shrimp & veggies with tempura batter, to dip them in and put in the pots though...

  6. I was married in the 70's.  What was big then??  Anything packaged.  Casseroles were huge too!!

  7. Salutations,

When I think of 70"s food, I think of fast food restaurants some of which no longer exsist. Sorry. Cheers

  8. Quiche Lorraine was very popular in the 70's

Edit: added a link to dinner recipes from then, that might give you more ideas~

Hope you have a blast =)

  9. fondue!

  10. chicken in the basket with chips(fries if in the usa)

    a vesta chow mein
