My Mother-in-law gave me her old sewing machine without a manual. This is my first sewing machine and I don't even know how to start figuring out how to use it. I need a manual but I don't even know what model it is. Can you please help! The brand is White and here is a picture

  1. What a great looking sewing machine. That was build in an era when you got a 20 warranty. The best advice I can give you is you take your White sewing machine in for a service.

The best way to take care of a sewing machine is to have it serviced every 12 months. While it's there to get a service they will know for sure what model it is and I'm sure they will  give you a run down on how to use it so you don't need to find a manual.

It's an old sewing machine but it's well worth the money in having it serviced. That machine will still keep on sewing when all the new machines have bit the dust.

  2. all you really need a manual for is to fugure out how to thread it up

and see you can find someone who can show you

then after you know how to thread it up you just sit down and figure out how to use it

my aunty gave me her old sewing machine

it didnt work but i fixed it by taking it apart and making a few ujustmants

and i figued out how to thread it up

i work in the upholstery business as a first year aprentise so i learnt how to thread up an industrial sewing machine and use it and then figured out how to use my aunties

    personaly those sewing machines suck

i prefer to use industral sewing machines because they have more controle

although those sewing machines can do some really cool stitches which can be handy

just ask your mother -in-law if she can spend some time to help you figure it out or she might even have the manual around somewhere

  3. The manual will only tell you about the mechanical "stuff".  It doesn't tell you how to sew.
