So I'm not moving out too soon, I'm 18 almost 19 and have a good job. My parents suggested buying things little by little. ie. plates, silverware etc. What I'm in need of is a complete list of things you need for your own home. Now I don't mean expensive things like washer, dryer, fridge. I mean things that are cheaper but every house needs.

  3. I think you should make your own list.  Go through the house right now with a pad and pencil.  Stand in each room and look around.  What is in that room that you use every day or very often?  Look in cabinets, drawers, closets.  You will need to get some of those things  for your own place, too.

Now, think of a "theme" for your living space, so when you shop, it will all kind of fit together.  You don't want stuff to "match" exactly - just "go together".  Like modern, country antique, industrial metal, english or french country, traditional, or eclectic.

Now, go to a large department store that carries all of these types of things.  If you have something like The Great Indoors or IKEA near you, that would be great.  Walk around the store (this might take you all day).  They have practically anything you would want - from furniture to silverware.  If IKEA has some sort of "bridal registry" then sign up for that.  You walk around the store and use a hand-held device to scan bar codes of what you want, and they will give you a print-out of a description of all the stuff you scanned.  Great for your own reference, even if you're not getting married.

Walk thru and make a note of what they have you would want, like a wish list.  Everything - from top to bottom.  Now, go home and look at the list and decide how to start shopping and what to get first.
