Question:

I need a name for a female pet rat. I would like the name to go along with Bambi. Thanks SOOOO much!:)?

I have two 8 week old Rats, they are the first rodent I have ever owned and i need some help with the right treats to feed them and how to teach them tricks like learning their name and anything else I may need to know. Thank you for your help!

    With the training, I don't know much of, but what I do know is that it's possible for them to listen with food around!

    Teaching it's name:

    First get a little treat [speaking of treats, you can give them things like grapes, apples, carrots, those type of things]

    Hold it out where it can see it and while it comes over [if it does] call its name.

    When it's done with the treat, get another [by the way, don't give it too much of fresh food]. This time, hide it behind your back or something. Call it's name the same as last time. Then give it the treat again.

    When it starts catching on, don't bring out any more treats. Call its name. If it comes, you then get a treat to present to it!

    I hope this works, but I dunno. Just used my imagination and assumed this would work.

    Rats need to be taken out daily for at least an hour each day.

    It is possible to give it a real bath with water and everything. But be careful to use warm water, use mild cat wash (or somehting like that so it doesn't irritate their skin), and keep all liquid and soap out of it's eyes!
