I got a cat she is 2 yrs old and she will not respond to her name. She is a long haired calico she love for me to hold her. She is a lap cat and loves for me to pet her. I have had several cats in my life time but none like her she is a wonderful cat to have. She doesn't talk much but when she does she is very quite she love to hide under the bet. Her favorite toys are the red beam light and a string on a wand. Any suggestions for a name and not Cali too common. Thanks

  1. Call her "Cat"

  2. it is possible that she may be hard of hearing. Hearing is not so good...

The best choice for a cat name is really up to you.

Though I like to name my cats (if they aren't already named, because I adopt cats from friends who can no longer care for their cats).

The names I like to name my cats tend to be unusual all of the time. Like, I've named a cat Murphy, because its a good name for either a boy or girl cat, and still different from typical pet names.

Another name I've named one of my most favorite cats was: " Koge" which is japanese for scorched or burnt, because she was a long haired  calico ragdoll mix {mostly browns, gold, tan & white feet chin bottom} like a big piece of bread left in the toaster too long on one side.

Using a word from a different culture, is really a great way to find an unusual name for your pet. To make it even more special for you & your cat.

    good luck

    cheers!!!

  3. I had a tiger striped female named Frizzie and a black and white cat named Tickles as she would come up to your face and tickle you with her whiskers.

I also think the name Missie is good...my dad had a cat named Betty and I thought that was hysterical.

    Good luck!

  4. well id say princess or angel idk why though, or maybe even missy. a good one i like is mits idk why though i like it

  5. go to http://www.kittens-lair.net/cat-names/th...

that has 100 kitty names well good luck!

  6. I go for different names.  Look up anything of interest to you, such as greek mythology, or some trait she has and find latin root for.  I've had an Electra (Oedipus Rex), Antigone, Pandora, Ariel, Basinger (my brother had a crush of Kim of the name!) and now a Meanie (nice cat but very feral when found).  Once you have a few names you like try them out on her and see if she responds to any.  Had to name a boy recently and after about a week he is now Imhotep, not after the movies, but after the actual ancient egyptian.  Right now I'm thinking Erised is a very pretty name, boy or girl (Harry Potter reference, the mirror of Erised).  Desire backwards, pronounced air-iss-ed.  And you're right Cali too common.

  7. you should name her sassy or nick-hole

  8. Hezakiah

  9. kiari(ki-re).

  10. Some unusual names I would suggest would be:

    Twister

    Twist

    Muffin

    Fluffin

    Clara

    Claire

    Tuna

    Mia

    Jasmine

    Good Luck!

  11. chia

  12. Your cat reminds me so much of one I had.

She loved to be held and petted also. Her purr was so comforting. She would follow me all over my apartment, and no matter how late I got home from work, she was laying in front of the door to greet me. Her favorite toy was a little foil ball. She always made me smile. She was a wonderful companion, and I miss her very much.

I think you can understand why I chose to name her Mia ("ME-ah"). It's a beautiful name from the Spanish word for 'mine'.

    Perfect.
