I need a new Sky digibox how do i get one?

Question

we had sky for a very long time but the box is starting to play up. when i turn it on for the first time it doesn't pick up a signal but when i turn it off then on it picks up the signal. i lost all the sky movies apart from sky movies premiere i just can't watch any because the picture is so bad like it has no signal even though i have full signal when i signal test it. so how to i get a new digibox

well before you try a new box, phone up the suppler of your sky box and tell them the problem, they will send you out an engineer (hopefully) and if it can't be fixed then they will either offer you a new box or you will have to ask for one.

cancel your subscription, then re-open it a day or to later, might work.

If it's knackered then take the opportunity to get a decent box like a Technomate for example. That will allow you to view more satellites than just the Sky Astra one. Then you can watch the Hollywood movies and Premiere league for free on European satellites and save on a Sky subscription.

Is it the box or the LNB at the end of the dish arm - before you spend out - check both - you can buy complete box and dish on Ebay fairly cheap

I bought a box for £15 and got a dish and LNB for £12 - cheaper than going thru Sky for a new one

contact sky. if they say you need to pay for a new box, what you are better off doing is looking through the local papers for a second hand unit to use but you will then need to call sky and let them know your new box ident number so your card will work in the replacement unit.

I had exactly the same problem. I happened to see a Sky van at the local supermarket and ask him. He told me that is was probably the LNB unit. I had not got a clue but he not only gave me a new but told me how to fit it. It was very easy and everything has work great since then. I smashing lad who would not even take a drink.
