I need a new battery but i don't want to spend £70 on a 069 heavy duty one is it necessary for a 1.3 litre?

Lada Riva 1300 (1990) on carbs.

No ECU so why such a heavy duty battery?

  1. generally speaking on your veh yes,

    the good news is that most heavy duty batteries have a 4 yr warranty,,while most of the rest have a 2yr warranty,,,u decide where the value is,but it also it depends if u can afford it as they are more expensive.

    they are more dependable in very cold conditions as well for starting the car

  4. The Lada riva needs a heavy duty battery because the rear screen heater has to be good enough to keep your hands warm while pushing it. :)

  5. Everyone is talking c**p. You need a low power battery and this can be found for around £30.00.

    Look at a local cheap car part supplier and you will have no problem.

  6. I would strongly recommend that you stick with correctly rated battery, try shopping around to see if you can get a better price.

  8. To start it after it has been sitting out in a Moscow street overnight in Winter.  You do not need one with as high a capacity as this in UK.

  9. u could get a better car 4 less, i bought a k reg renault 19 4 £30
