I have a 1998 Mitsubishi mirage 1.5L stick

I'm putting in to 12" subs running 450 rms each and a 1300watt mono class d amp running 900 rms at 2 ohms.

My current battery in my car has corrosion all over the top and its time for a new one. Should I spend the extra bucks nd get a $150 yellow top optima battery or should i just go with the regular $99 Red top optima? Is there a big difference? I will be putting in a cap also.

If u know of any other good batteries for a cheaper price please let me know =D

  1. not cheaper persay but better. kinetik power cells. optima are good for every other ride out there bit if your going to get serious why bother with a battery at any autozone or pepboys?????? also if you buy a good battery and your alt is up to the task then that cap will do nothing but hurt you. imo put the cap up for a rainy day.

  2. get the yellow top optima or red it doesnt matter both of them are strong and last long. all my cuhzin and i have the yellow ones .

  3. You can check into PowerMaster, SVR, NSB, and Deka.  All are a safe bet, and have countless different models and sizes to fit your car.
