I need a new bilge pump rubber?

i have a whale gusher bilge pump on my boat and the rubber diaphram has split, i cant find anywhere where i can purchase JUST the rubber, you have to buy the whole kit , does anyone know where i can buy the rubber only ?

you will most likely have to apply to the manufacturer for this.normally a good marine chandler should stock the spare part,but money is tight and stock is dead money.

you can buy rubbers at the local convenience store...

just kidding.. try ebay.com maybe .. the boating parts and service is less available due to the fact it is not a necessity compared to the common car.. thus much less availability of parts for parts (diaphram for a pump) versus pump for the boat.. Been there owning boats.. I live in florida....

Assuming you can't get it from your local marina or boat retailer, GASKETS of many sizes and shapes are available at most home and hardware stores; you might also want to try an electronics or hobbyist shop. Just make sure to bring the pump's make and model and any relevant specs with you, along with the damaged gasket.  Also, check the web for the manufacturer's home page; they might be able to tell you where you can find it near you, but, if not, they should be able to order it for you.

P.S.  The word is "diaphragm".

A.S.A.P. have a large range (I have just looked)-unfortunately they all seen to be repair kits,but you may find when you open the pump up that you need new valve flaps anyway. As it is a bilge pump it might be worth getting the neoprene option (if available) as it is less affected by oil.   The company that makes them is quite close to here and we cannot get diaphrams on their own anymore-you used to be able to get them straight from the factory.
