I need a new dve/cd player that is easy to hook up and gives good surround sound - what are the top 3 brands?

Good surround sound has nothing to do with the DVD player unless it has 5.1 channel outputs on it and you are using them. The quality of the surround sound is based on your audio HT receiver and speakers. Panasonic, Pioneer, Sony, Samsung, LG are all quality players. I like panasonic DVD players myself.

If you want good, they are all pretty good as long as you go with well known name brands just stay away from the off brands like Coby, and Ultrasonicvisions or whetever these cheapo companies are coming up with for names.
