I am a new mom and I am always home. I cook, bake, etc. I really need a new craft or hobbie. Any ideas on something that would take time and not be so hard for me to learn. I am open to anything fun. I love crafts :)

  1. It would be fun to learn a new language, maybe you should take up that. The wii is fun, that can be a hobby...

  2. there is this great new site that I am telling everyone about that offers tons of information on all areas of crafting. http://www.craftstylish.com/ Is full of fun and unique crafts from jewelry making to knitting! Because you are a new mom I would suggeset quilting or maybe simple sewing so you could make your little one a quilt or some stuffed animals to play with! Good Luck!

  3. Make jewelry. Beading is great, starting is inexpensive. It can run into money, but I make birthday, Christmas and other presents all year long. As your little one gets bigger, you need a space he/she cannot get into. Beads are not edible. Give it a try. Have fun.

  4. knitting and crocheting are very easy to learn, quite productive, and having children makes its easier to stretch your dollar on gifts. Most people find it very relaxing and helpful with stress also.

If you can handle small things needlework is very rewarding, it seems tedious but as each stitch starts to become a beautiful picture, it's all worth it, and the younger you start the better.

  5. Join a martial arts school.  I would suggest Okinawan Karate.

Get you out of the house a couple nights a week, give you some exercise, and it is very good for calming you when you stress.

  6. Crochet is easy to learn, and you can make stuff for your baby!  Just go to the library and get a book to learn how, its very simple to learn.  Once you know the basic stitches and abbreviations, you can do new patterns in a snap.

Boy, "The Dude" is very rude and intolerant, isn't he?

  7. Papercrafts! You can make all your own greetings cards and delight your family and friends. There are loads of online tutorials that can get you started.

  8. Illuminated manuscripts

  9. oragami

    fung shuei

  10. Why don't you read a book learn something new. I would give my right arm if I had time to sit and read but I don't have the pleasure of being at home all day must be nice.

  11. Try world of warcraft.

  12. Try Stampin' Up!  It' all about handstamped greeting cards and scrapbook pages. Visit my site www.courtneymcaulay.stampinup.net or my blog which is www.courtneysstampingcorner.typepad.com

  13. ok, I know this might sound boring, but its really relaing, & very stress free.

How about prestamped, prequilted, cross stitch quilts, they make baby quilts too.

I do these its so much fun, & very relaxing for me.

  14. Scrapbooking is great - there are all kinds of neat things you can do and since you're a new mom, you're probably taking tons of pictures anyway.  There's a cool website where you can order different kits each month to make scrapbook pages - www.scrapsinabox.com.  I think you'd really enjoy it.
