I need a new memory card for my camera?

Question

i currently have an olympus xd memory card and if i buy from a different brand, what do i need to make sure is the same? like obviously the shape has to be the same but what about models or whatever?

oh and my camera's been acting reeeaaally slow. will the new memory card help speed it up?[[i'm getting new batteries too so no need to mention them]]

well, you don't mention what TYPE of card you use, but I know that my sony alpha takes compact flash cards.  CF cards come in two types.  Normal and high speed.  And the high speed really does make a difference.  Brand to brand they are 99% compatible.  In my last camera (it used SD cards) I used three different brands of cards and they all worked fine.

make sure it has xD on it not SD

xD is mainly made by Olympus and Fuji

Do you mean the shutter lag, when referring it to being slow? That could be an internal problem.

As long as it's a XD card, it should be compatible with your camera, regardless of the brand (I had a camera that used XD cards).
