I need a new perspective?

Ok, so I have these friends. They were friends before I knew them, a guy, and a girl. They were best friends and nothing more. Then all of a sudden they stopped talking like 5 months before I knew them and I don't now why they didn't talk. Now, I am best friends with the girl, we have been friends for a while. I hooked up with the guy a couple of months ago. At the time him and the girl didn't talk. I didn't know they didn't talk anymore or why. I still like the guy and we talked but stopped. Then, a week ago my best friend, the guy, and another friend all hung out. My friends thought he liked me, I guess it seemed like it. Now, the guy texts my best friend every night after they hadn't talked in months but he doesn't have my number and doesn't text me.

My bff says that he prolly thinks were together and I do text his best friend a lot. But I don't know why he won't call or text me? He is shy btw. My friend thinks by texting her he wants me to be jealous. My best friend also doesn't want me to like him but she knows I still do. Her excuse is " I don't want you to get hurt again." Does she say this cause she likes him? I really have know clue what to do?

To me it sounds like he probably still has feelings for the other girl. Just wait and see what happens, or you could talk to him about it, that  would probably be the best way to go about it. And your friend DOESNT like him, she probably really doesn't want anything bad to happen to you because you are her freind and she cares about you.

Ummm...my guess is he and the girl "hooked up" and that is why they stopped talking. I have been in a similar experience more then once. That is what it seems like to me. Oh and if you are not getting the affection you need then you need to stop wasting your time. Don't try and be with someone you constantly have to test or judge. Trust should come naturally.
