I am working from Rome for a company in the US and have mutliple documents that will need a notary signature. Are there US notaries in Rome? Where? HELP! It's urgent. I'm assuming that Italians working with the US also need some form of signature validation so if its not a notary, are there equivalents?

  1. You don't need a U.S. notary.  A U.S. notary can't help you since the document did not originate from the U.S.

Just find any local notary and they can help and assist you in having your document notarized.

Notaries in the US are fairly restricted compared to other countries and parts of the world.  They also have far less power and authority.  As a California commissioned notary, I can only notarize documents originating  in California.

Bottom-line,  find a local notary public and your worries are over and your document will be taken care of.

If you are in the States and need a notary, please consider using  http://www.needanotary.net/ to find a local mobile notary public.
