I need a nursing home to put my dad in but cant afford it HELP!!?

My dad made a little too much money in his retirement and now he is not eligible for any type of assistance. He has Alzheimer's & I am at my Witt's end trying to care for him alone. He is tearing up my home & I need him in a place that will be able to watch him 24/7.

Does anyone out there know how to get around the horrible system our government has in place for the elderly?

i'd go talk to who ever is in charge of the nursing home.

they could probably work something out.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Whatever you do, DON'T go for cheap. and make sure it's a safe and reputable facility. Even then check OFTEN. You don't want your dad spending his last years in an abusive and unsafe environment

see a real estate attorney first, and get some legal help.  most will have a free initial consultation.  they can tell you how to proceed.  make sure it is a reputable place, and hopefully something for all your care and concerns, past and present.  good luck.
