I need a pair of running/tennis shoes??

Question

I'm taking track this year, and would love a nice pair of shoes. any ideas? a link would be awesome.

I usually end up with Nike.  They usually have superior arches, good construction, and look good.

I definitely agree with the first response. Go to a running store. The people there are so into running, they ENJOY helping you.

They'll have you walk and run barefoot so they can watch how your feet move while you're doing both activities... Based on that, they'll pick out some shoes for you to try on... Most places will even let you run around in them...

You pick the ones you like best...

Some stores even have a return policy where they tell you you can try them out on an indoor track or treadmill and bring them back if it turns out they don't feel so hot...

I personally wear Brooks, but I must say that Mizunos are SO much lighter... Really.

The shoes dont really matter trust me. I ran the 100m in a regular pair of running shoes and turns out I came in first at the provincal meet ( Im Canadian )

Go to a running store(and not a regular shoe store). Get fitted for a shoe. Links are nice but people's recommendations might not help you much. Everyone has a specific foot strike and foot shape. Someone at a runners store will watch you run, look at the wear pattern on your shoes, and help you pick a shoe that will work out best for you.
