  1. The easiest way would be to ring the Irish embassy in Canberra,Australia and see if your entitled to an Irish passport. If either of you parents or grandparents were born in Ireland you should have no problems at all getting a Irish passport.(but you will need their full Irish birth certificate as evidence as proof).

If your not entitled to an Irish passport you should ask the embassy about how you can get residency.I got Irish residency as it was easier at the time as my Mam's birth certificate was taking to long to get to Australia and I couldn't wait any longer as I was leaving the country. The laws about residency in Ireland have changed a bit since I got mine. All I had to do was go to the nearest garda station after I arrived in Ireland and tell them I wanted to live here with my Irish husband, and they said that was fine, but I had to get my residency book stamped every year, and after 5 years of living there it only had to be stamped every 5 years, and after 5 years they said I didn't need a residency book any more and to get my residency there weren't any fees.

I hope I was of some sort of help.Feel free to email me if you have any more questions.

  2. Based on current exchange rates, 1 euro costs around a dollar sixty five (AU$).

You may wish to rent as property prices in the Republic of Ireland are in a state of flux at the moment - and a bit too inflated.

You'll need a single ticket - that's something you need to work out at your end, use http://www.expedia.com.au/ to start with. But shop around.

Sales Tax is quite high in the Republic at around 21% as opposed to 17.5% for VAT in Northern Ireland which is still part of the U.K.

Many people travel across the border depending on their needs. Some items are less expensive in NI although gasoline is still cheaper in the Republic.

You'll also need to arrange a visa and I'm sure you'll need to supply details of what job you hope to take up on arrival. So you'll need a work visa or something else.

All of this should have been on the Republic's Embassy page on immigration.

If you don't have a job lined up, you may not be successful. You will usually have to demonstrate abilities that are useful to the Republic to set you above other potential immigrants.

  3. you need to give me more details

Most of us buy houses, but you can rent

    have you got a job?

if not you will have to have enough cash to live for 2 years

add more details and i´ll get back to you

but why on earth would you want to move away from Australia?
