Hello. A month ago i took for 6 days an antibiotic called clindamycin and im afraid now i have problems.

Let me tell you my symptoms:

* In the morning (Only in the morning) when i wake up and i spit, i have noticed red spots in my saliva, then after i rinse my mouth the saliva seems to be "normal".

* When i wake up my eyes look watery and little red.

* At night i hear stomach noises

* Sometimes i feel moderate abdominal pain (left side)

* I dont have diarrhea but i need to use the WC at unusual hours (3am - 4am).

*Sometimes when i use the toilet paper i see a little blood spot on it.

What is happening with me? Im scared

PD I had normal results with my blood and urine tests

Thanks

  1. Clindamycin ? How long did you use /? capsules or injections.

Clindamycin can cause a colitis (inflammation of the large bowe)l,sometimes diarrhoea, and sometimes a condition called thrombocytopenia which may cause bleeding from various sites. This drug can cause abdominal pains too.

According you the blood report was normal, and if the thrombocytes were normal there cannot be a thrombocytopenia. Clindamycin can cause other damages

which are very harmful to the organs like the liver.

And you say that you ? stopped the drug 1 month ago.

Whatever it is I cannot say whether this is due to a damage done by this antibiotic. It is best to meet a specialist medical officers.

A more detailed investigation may be required.

The above signs and symptoms can occur due to some viral infections like Dengue fever. I suppose you did not have fever.

For what condition did you take Clindamycin and for how long?
