I don't want someone to go to a translator page please.
Let me explain.
I went to Berlin this weekend, and this morning my Gran broke her wrist. So my mum phoned up my Grans' sister, my Great Aunt, who I am very close too.
Anyway, my Gran's side of the family are from Lithuania, however when my Gran was born, the part where she was born was under the control of Hitler so part of Germany. And during the war my family went through alot of stuff like Concentration Camps and Ghettos, because the part they lived in was then taken over by Stalin, so when Hitler was cleaning out Russia, my family were sent to Poland . They weren't Jewish, but Hitler was suspicious that they might have got the communist bug.
Anyway in the end most of my family came to England, where they live today, some then went to America and Canada, but some made the choice to stay in Berlin.
Now when my mum was talking to my Great Aunt she told her we had been to Berlin and my mum mentioned that she had heard my Great Grandma, talking about having realatives in Berlin, in the east, which is where we stayed when we went to Berlin last weekend.
Anyway I was on facebook looking for them, becasue my mum told my Great Aunt we might go again, so my great aunt is going to come with us next time. But I though it would be nice to try and find some family and I found someone who could potentially be a relative. The family name i was looking for was uncommon and the person lives in Berlin. So they seem a likely candidate. And also my Great Aunt would like to know what became of the family who stayed in Germany.
Could someone please translate (and for the sake of privacy i will put 5 x's where a name should be)
>>>>> Are your mother and father called xxxxx and xxxxx.
Because if so, we may be distantly related. <<<<<
(Its a completly random thing, but this could change my life if the individual is a relative, so i have to know.)
Thanks for any help.
It is appreciated.
