I took loads of stuff with me but nothing worked. You can't get anything out there and it nearly ruined my trip. I don't want the same thing to happen again.

make sure when you apply any repellent it's covering all skin area, back of neck and hair, and is 2-3 inches under your cloaths were skin meets cloathing. (like 2-3 inches under your sleeves.)

what ever you do dont get Jungle Formula, it turns into a runny watery milky stuff when it gets warm and is useless!!

put all insect repellent and medication of any kind into the fridge if it's warm/hot there as all the actuve ingredients get used when they reach a certain temp and then there useless!

  2. eat marmite....honest it puts them off

  3. Woah don't listen to itrip's answer. Anything really smelly or that smells good attracts insects! Hence why so many answers are telling you to use non-scented products!

  4. One way to  keep them off in your hotel room is a mosquito net hanging over the bed. Have a look on ebay - you can get them that hang on a hoop from one single point either on the ceiling or wall..

  5. The Avon cosmetic company make a skin cream to remove wrinkles called SKIN SO SOFT. It's a great insect repellent and widely used in Scotland, renown for biting midges. You can buy it from AVON ON LINE. If you suffer from bites take a very hot bath which will draw out the poisons. Eat garlic.

Make a bag out of a white net curtain big enough to go over you head and tuck into your shirt collar. When you go to infected places just put it on and wear a straw hat.

  6. For 2 weeks prior to your holiday do not eat anything sweet, its the sugar in your blood that the mossies go for, try Avon skin so soft spray oil after your shower or bath before you go out of an evening in Cuba really does help, try taking anti hystimenes for 10 days before you go and carry on taking them while your in Cuba too as that helps or you could try a 6 week course of vitamin B tablets before you go as that seems to work for a lot of people, finally before you go out of an evening in Cuba try spraying mosquito spray on your legs from the knees downwards as that stops the sandflies as welll as the mossies getting you, I so feel for you, I have been to Cuba 3 times and have never been bitten and I really hope this time you come away bite free, have a great holiday.

  7. I'll second OLGA C,I used to get eaten alive! A friend recommended Avon Skin So Soft and it really does work for me.I use the body wash and then the body lotion on every holiday. In the past when I got bitten I used vinegar that I kept in the fridge.Wear light coloured clothes, mosquitoes are attracted to dark ones and for back up I used to spray round my door with insect repellent on my way out!

I know how you feel I used to suffer so much.

  8. I know this sounds weird but rub dryer sheets all over you any kind downy, bounce and they stay away plus u smell fresh.  Sounds iffy but it works. just bring some you;ll see

  9. You need to wear non-sented lotions and add a few drops of citronella to them
