You have a few options. First, if you are condsidered a "low income household" you are probably eligible for childcare assistance.  If you are not, you could think about setting up a "Nanny Share", which is when you and one or two other mothers pay one nanny to watch all of your children and split the cost.  A good website for this is craigslist.  Just please make sure you check references.

If you really NEED child care for your son, be VERY PICKY about where you place him.  Get references for any placement and talk to those references to see what their experiences have been with the care provider.  Ask your local social service agencies, elementary school, and churches if they know of any child care programs you could check out.  Consider cleanliness, program routine, and staff/child ratio, and try to observe caregivers interacting with the children.  Babies need a lot of loving contact and stimulation to thrive physically and cognitively, and the experiences your infant has now will affect his growing, learning, and behavior throughout his whole life.
