  2. First prepare shimp..

    12 large sized shrimp

    1 cup flour

    1 egg

    1 cup all purpose flour

    1/2 cup ice water

    Vegetable oil (for frying)

    Prepare the shrimp by peeling and deveining Make a thin slice down the body of each shrimp (on the inside of the shrimp, where the legs were). Dry each piece with paper towel. Place flour in a medium-sized bowl, pour the ice water over the flour and mix in the egg lightly. Be careful to not overmix the batter. Meanwhile, place oil in a large, deep skillet (about 2 inches of oil). Heat the oil to 350 degrees. Carefully place each shrimp in the batter and cook for approximately 2 minutes, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

    12 prepared shrimp tempura

    12" toasted french bread cut lengthwise

    tomato slices

    lettuce leaves

    a mild cheese of your choice may also be added.

    1 Cup Namasu Tartar

    Serve shrimp on French bread with tomato, lettuce and Namasu Tartar sauce. .

    Namasu Tartar

    8 oz prepared cucumber namasu, drained (found at Asian gorcery stores)

    2 cups mayonnaise

    2 Tbs capers

    juice of 1/2 lemon

    1/3 cup namasu liquid (optional)

    Rough chop namasu and combine with remaining ingredients. Use namasu liquid to thin the tartar sauce. (Note: Leftover Namasu Tartar sauce is a great substitute for traditional tartar sauce, delicious with baked fish fillets or deep-fried whole fish.)

    This is my own recipe (for the sandwich not the sauce) Enjoy!

  3. 1.  Clean and devein shrimp

    2.  Season with some Creole Seasoning

    3.  Coat with Zatarain's Fish-Fri and deep fry.

    The sandwich itself...

    Soft french bread..

    Dressed

    Mayo (or use tartar sauce - not traditional)

    Lettuce

    tomatoes

    Pickles

    Fry your shrimp...

    put them on a nice crusty roll with whatever fixins you want.  Lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo are the most common.
