I sold my car to a lady a while back ago and told her that my mom was supposed to be sending me the title shortly (mom was the previous owner). Well as it turns out she is not going to send to the title and i was wondering if there was a way for the buyer to get a title for the car herself. Reply ASAP!!!!!!!!!

  1. You can contact your local DMV and find out how to contact the state they should have a copy on file and be able to issue it to the last holder of the title.

  2. If your mother has the title and the title is in your mothers name, you sold a car that does not belong to you.

If your mother just lost the title, she will need to apply for a duplicate title and then sign off on it and send it to you.

No, DMV will not issue a title to anyone else except the owner.

Your buyer does not have a chance in getting a title for your mothers car and neither do you.

You need to get this straightened out with your mother or the buyer can cause legal problems for you (fraud, selling stolen property).
