I am currently in Environmental Technologies, I was curious if anyone could think of a extremely interesting topic involving invertebrate of any kind. I would like to work with invertebrate such as frogs, newts, lizard-ish type things.

A question such as: What are the effects of water pollution on frogs?

But I want to need to create a tide pool or something like that.

Does that make sense?

  1. I don't know the constraints of your project, but as you are claiming it to be for an environmental technologies class, and not an environmental science class, you should consider modifying your idea. Environmental Technology always asks the question "What can be done to curb the negative impacts of human involvement?"

First your idea. A little science:  frogs, newts, and lizard-ish type things are not invertebrates, and have vertebral columns. Frogs, a type of amphibian, are often cited as an indicator of climate change. So questions you can ask include "What can be done to curtail the mass localized extinctions of frogs?" (for this you should check out the Amphibian Conservation Action Plan). How can we use the frog extinctions as an indicator to predict local climate issues?

What you might want to look at, is something local. Look into LEEDS, this is the hot topic in environmental technology. It's all about sustainable development. A research topic you might want to look into is the stalled bike initiatives in San Francisco. Reasoning behind it has been given as "bikes may cause more pollution by slowing down traffic and increasing car idling". Work on developing a model for determining the validity of that statement.
