Frankfurt is not on the Rhine. It is on the Main, which is why sometimes on maps it is called Frankfurt-am-Main or Frankfurt aM. You might be better off finding cruises departing from Mainz, which ironically is on the Rhine (Rhein). Mainz is a short train ride from Frankfurt.

If you want to take a cruise on the Main, you can, but most of them are shorter than 6 to 8 hours.

Cologne (Köln) is another city with river cruises. Two hours from Frankfurt by faster train.
