I am getting married in the fall and at the reception we are giving small jars of applebutter as wedding favors. I am making my own tags to put on the jars and wondered if anyone had a good idea of the "saying" to put on the jar. I thought about putting ingredients but thought it might be easier to put a short and sweet saying with our name and wedding date underneath. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  1. "Fall in Love"

    "Apple of My Eye"

“Love doesn't grow on trees like apples in Eden - it's something you have to make. And you must use your imagination too.” Joyce Cary quote (English Writer, 1888-1957)

"A world of blossoms for the bee, Flowers for the sick girl's silent room, For the glad infant sprigs of bloom, We plant with the apple tree."

    William C. Bryant

"The goldenrod is yellow, The corn is turning brown, The trees in apple orchards With fruit are bending down."

    Helen Hunt Jackson

“But I, when I undress me Each night upon my knees Will ask the Lord to bless me, With apple pie and cheese”

Eugene Field quote(American poet and journalist, known as "the poet of childhood", 1850-1895)

"With an apple I will astonish Paris."

    Paul Cezanne

“Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings.”

    Bible quotes

Just a few ideas from all over the place.  Hope this helps.

  2. "Training is needed in order to love properly; and to be able to give happiness and joy, you must practice deep looking directed toward the other person you love. Because if you do not understand this person, you cannot love properly. Understanding is the essence of love. If you cannot understand, you cannot love." - Thich Nhat Hahn

  3. It's a bit long, but may go with the apple theme. Saw it in the New Yorker magazine a long time ago and haven't forgotten it since:

Love is an apple, round and firm

without a blemish or a worm

Bite into it and you will find

    You've found your heart

    and lost your mind.

  4. "spread the joy" or "spread the love"

  5. The recipe would be great for on the jar. You could do something like:

    The Beginning:

    Type the recipe

The Beginning would be showing that you and your new spouse are starting the beginning of your new life together. The recipe is then something that the folks can use from here on in.

I did that at my sisters 10th wedding anniversary, except I did it with Amish Bread. Everyone loved it.

  6. For my daughter's wedding one side of the tag said something like "From our heart to yours .... Kim and Tom, June xxxxxxx".

Then on the back of the card, we put their names, home address, and phone number.  This gave the guests the updated information on a card they could stick in their wallet, instead of a hundred people scrabbling for scraps of paper and trying to write down the information.

  7. Put a pic of two little bees and write "Meant to Bee"

    All the best :)

  8. We are glad   you  joined us on our very special occasion, thank you for making this day more special for us!

  9. The apple of each other's eye?

Your attendance has made this day go like butter?

As a side note you should ALWAYS include the ingredients of any food products you give out.  The nutritional facts too if you can get them.  Some people have allergies and others are simply watching their diets.  A small label on the back or bottom where it's not too obvious would work just fine if you are worried about the asthetics.

  10. an apple a day

    falling in love

    something sweet

  11. This day, I will marry my friend,

    The one I laugh with,

    Dream with,

    Live for,

    Love.
