i need a non-fictional setting for my book!

it has to be a city/town with a population between 3000 and 5000, best if in the middle of the country, near a lake/sea, and not more than a 3 hour drive from a bigger city!!

im sorry if im asking for a lot but im trying to narrow the search down!

  1. An atlas would be a good resource for you.  You might look at the various states, pick a few locations and then to do your research gather information from the tourism boards for the states and towns that appeal to you.

You will easily be able to look at the atlas and identify lakes and oceans.  Of course, there will be no oceans in the middle of the country ;)

It is not in the middle of the country, but I live in a small town in coastal South Carolina, outside of Charleston.  Most of the residents are farming families or wealthy families.  A little further out is Edisto Island, S.C. which would perhaps be a nice setting for a book (it is over an hour to the city of Charleston, whereas my location is only half that far).

I hope this helps, and I wish you the best!  I love to read.

  2. i cold windy night, a wolf howling in the background... the stars light up the sky... the cold air feels like a wave of relief... that sort of thing...

  3. Downtown Paterson, NJ.  There's more people than you specified, though.
