I don't want it to be so small that the nearsest neighbors are miles away, just an average, quiet, small town. I'm writing a story (http://www.mibba.com/story/Walking-Into-A-Dream/Halfway-Gone/). It's sort of dark, and part of it took place in 1849, so it needs to be at least that old. It would be good if there were a few cemeteries. I'm considering Coggeshall and Ludlow, which one would be better? Or are there even better towns for it to take place in?

  1. Todmorden, West Yorkshire. I Live there, and there are old stories of witchraft and stuff happening here, and it's a really creepy place in parts, so would suit the dark aspect of your story

  2. I'd set it in Coggeshall - but I'm from Essex & therefore biased.

In victorian times Coggeshall Jobs were jokes about the supposedly stupid people of the town.
