I have two therapy clients meeting with me SOON! They both have high functioning Autism. I need a game where they can interact and practice problem solving and language skills! Last month when we met we played a Mission Impossible game. I covered a room with yarn to represent to laser beams in MI. One was blindfolded and the other one had to talk their partner through with out touching the yarn and tripping the security system. Any FUN ideas like that...I am clueless today!!

  1. how bout you throw a doughnut or a toy over a 100 foot cliff and see if they go after it.

  2. Board games work for autism - games like whodunnit, battleship, clue (or clue jr. ) depending on their age.

Another idea is: You could put objects under a cloth - one person gets to feel the objects under the cloth or in the bag while they describe what it feels like the other person has to write it down or guess what it is. Take turns back and forth.

  3. Give the students 1 dollar for both of them and have them talk about how they will spend it cooperatively when they go to 7 eleven or some other convenience store. This is a great talking, problem solving/ negotiating game and in the end they get to buy something and figure out how to share it etc.
