If you mean you are trying to get a video player for different formats I would use GOM player. Get it here:

http://www.download.com/GOM-Media-Player...

This can play most if not all movies you may have on your computer. Just make sure you select all the formats when installing it. If by some coincidence you have a game called Bioshock, GOm player will not allow Bioshock to work. You shouldn't have problems with anything else.If for some reason you do use this one:
