I'm trying to put together a fantasy basketball spreadsheet. My formula will give me a numeric value next to each player's name. I want to sort the players by their respective numeric values.

  1. Try highlighting the numeric value column for all your players, then copy and 'Paste Values' back into the same range.  This removes the formulas and leaves just the result of the formula in the cell.  Then you can sort based on the 'value' column.

  2. Create a header row, and freeze the pane.  Then go to "sort" and you'll get a menu asking you to sort by which column - excel will then put each row in order according to the column you've chosen.

  3. yes you can do that

i believe that you have formula in only one column

highlight the entire non formula are with the only formula column then try to sort by the  formula column

make sure that you had only one column for formula

other wise it will mess up the formulas
