I need a good, reccomended stable in Indiana..I am 11 years old and have been riding for 3 years. I do hunter jumping but i do nooo racing or dressage. I love to ride but the last stable i was at was focused on training for competitions- but my family cant afford them. plus the one and only one i went to- i saw a girl pull her shoulder out of it's socket and break her leg. so i just want to be able to be in lessens and learn new things but i also just want to ride for fun. Thanks so much!

  1. Where are you in Indiana (it's kind of a big state).  If you're in the eastern part of the state anywhere near Ohio, I have a barn to recommend that's about 10 minutes outside of Indiana.  It's the Miami University stable... it's in Oxford Ohio... about 20 miles north of Cincinnati and right on the Indiana border.  I learned to ride there.  It's very big and they have a lot of horses.  All the people are very nice and very professional.  They all know a lot about horses and about teaching riding.  They'll be sure to keep you safe but allow you to train for competitions.  They know a lot about showing and they have horses at all levels so you'll be safe no matter what level you're at.  And from what I remember, prices are very reasonable.  The only thing is... I know they offer lessons to the public during the summer, but I don't know if they offer lessons during the school year because there are so many students riding during the school year.  However, I know that one of the stable hands (Cindy) teaches during the school year so you could take lessons with her during the school year and take lessons at the Miami barn during the summer if necessary.  The Miami barn is a wonderful place and I highly recommend it if you're anywhere near there.
