  1. OK let's assume you have a guitar and know how to tune it (E A D G B A from lowest to highest). Next, you need a book of chord shapes.

Start with 3 easy chords, like A D E. Finger A and strum across the strings to see if they all sound. If not, you may not be pressing down hard enough, or you may be muffling strings cos your fingers are lying too flat( you need to arch your fingers over the neck.) When you can do that, move on to E, then D. Practise playing all 3 chords until you can change beween them instantly. There are then stacks of early rock'n'roll songs you can play - Johnny B Goode; Hound Dog. Blue Suede Shoes etc etc.. These 3 chords in in the key of A If you learn G next, you will have D G A - the key of D. To cover this in a month, you will have to practise daily, and be prepared to put up with a lot of pain in the fingers. (listen to Bruce Springsteen's Summer of 69!!)

Hope this helps, but please feel free to go to my profile and email for further assistance.

  2. Unless you are extremely gifted you are not going to learn the guitar in a month.

And if you were extremely gifted you could figure out how to play it on your own.

So simple answer to your question:  No

  3. It really depends on what you're trying to learn in a month... if you're trying to learn a simple song with three or four chords; then you could try to teach yourself that. Anything beyond that will take more than a month to master...
