Example of themes I have already used - "Every thing's Coming Up Roses at 93," "How Sweet It Is to be 90," and "August Sun... Brings Summer Fun!" (this was a sunflower theme). My colors are purple, yellow and green, but if I have to I can change them, it's just that I already have the napkins and paper plates. I also need centerpieces and party favor ideas to go with the theme. Thanks!

  1. "Aged to Perfection" and have some good wines and cheese (things that age well) ...  I would use music from the 20's (Roaring Twenties) and 30's, because that's when she was a teenager and in her 20's, and most people always love the music they listened to as a teenager.  (One answer suggested the 50's, but she's the age that would have HATED that "new rock & roll") .... Maybe some movie posters from films of that era (Gone With the Wind, Fantasia are 2 that I can think of)....   Actually FANTASIA might be a cute, interesting theme to go with!  So many ideas in that movie (and definitely family-friendly);  I think it was released about 1928:)

  2. Maybe a hawaiian/disco theme?

Seems cliched/generic, but I can't think of any other suitable themes at the moment.

  3. Research things that happened the year she was born. Nostalgic? Yes and church goers would love it.

  4. on the cake u should have 95 candles :D

  5. You should do a 50's theme. Maybe take her back to when she was younger. You could play 50's music. and Put up old pictures and maybe a few decorations from that era.

  6. The Shasta Daisies and the Painted Daisies are blooming in August in gardens. These are within your already chosen colors.

One of my very favorite hymns is "In The Garden" so it isn't stretching too much to use it as a theme for a party held in the church social hall.

And in God's garden there are all these lovely people too. I'm sure you are one of the treasures.

  7. throw a formal  dinner with family and friends.

  8. All I can think of is Survivor.  You could have some low level games and award prizes to the winner, and then everybody votes her the #1 Survivor and they bring out the cake.
