  1. As a bartender/server I think 18% is in order...I have to claim 13.8% of my sales on my taxes.  I'm surprised by how many people leave 9%...

I'm a generous tipper and don't expect what I leave but my employer pays me $3.90 and I do rely on tips..

I am always thrilled with 18%...

  2. Tip the same as you would if you were home--20% for good service.  That's what the Irish have come to expect of us and in return, they have made huge changes over the past 10 years or so, to make their food better.  I think they've succeeded beautifully!

  3. irish people dont tip, i mean if its an expensive restaurant or in a pub or hotel they will, but not generously.

i worked in a pub for w few weeks and worked for 11 hours one day and made 60euro.  it sucked.

i suggest u tip, because sometimes, its what the waiter or waitress is counting on to live off, especially foreigners because they moved in order to make money...

    so tip!
