You could set the whole place up like a club, and have a bar set up where non-alcoholic cocktails are served etc. Food could be taken around on trays throughout the night. You could have everyone just talking etc and dancing.

I am doing a Alice in Wonderland theme for my 19th Birthday. I am dressing as Alice but in a more modern blue dress.. I am decoration the hall with playing cards hanging from the celling with fishing line. Bright colored baloons hanging from the celling. I have painted bright colored mushrooms to tape on the walls. I will have bunnies and clocks randomly placed around the room also yard flamingos in a pot of grass in the corner. I am putting too long tables together to make on extra long talbe that will be set up with tea pots and tea cups as decoration I will fill them with colorful flowers or red and white roses if I can afford it. I will be serving brightly colored cookies that say eat me on them and the drinks will be colorful soda in clear glasses with contrasting color sugar rims. I also plan on making a candy bar with yummy candies and bags so my friends can take some home with them. For the girls I wanted to give each one of them a stuffed bunny. Oh yeah I also wanted to get some bottels with corks and put crazy liquids in them all edible but extra sweet or extra sour like lemon juice. I was also going to distribute bubbles to everyone and have a strobe light. You can do alot of things with this party. You could have you guest dress up as the characters or wear mad hats.
