  1. You can't compost anything that has a "mother".  The only exception this are eggshells.


  2. I'm not willing to list every vegetable and plant you can compost.  Nor everything that's non-compostable, but I still think I can help.

    Stay away from composting animal fats like beef/chicken/pork leftovers.  They'll take forever to compost and will attract pests.  Included in that list should be things coated in butter.

    Stick with fruits/vegetables/plants.

    You can also compost things like coffee grounds, tea bags, fireplace ash and of course lawn clippings and leaves.
