I've been playing for 8 years, going on my 9th. I play a solo on my violin every year and I need a new one for this year.

I'd prefer something in a minor key. Something challenging but not too hard. I AM willing to work at it though so if you have any good ones... yeah that'd be great. I've already played Handel Sonatas before, so none of those please.

  1. I've been playing violin for five years now. Solos that I have not attempted but seem like something a 9 year violinist could master are:

    Ravel: Tzigane

    Sarasate: Carmen Fantasy

    Tchaikovsky: Concerto in D major

    Bruch: Concerto in G Minor

Solos that I've recently played(may be to easy for you though) are:

    Sarasate: Zigeunerweisen

    Mendelssohn: Concerto in E Minor

    Kreisler: Praeludium and Allegro

    Butterfly's Lover's Concerto

  2. Hm..I've played violin for almost 10 years now (I feel old now...)

Something minor...I'd have to say Didone Abbandonata by Guiseppe Tartini. Its in a minor key and its also a Sonata. However, if you want a REAL violin solo (one that actually dosn't have a Piano) I reccommend a Bach Partita, especially No. 2 in D Minor. It sounds great and it's not the hardest to learn!
